Lilly Pulitzer Endless Summer Sale: Best Day Ever or Disaster Waiting to Happen?

As all Lilly enthusiasts know Lilly Pulitzer items are only on sale twice a year, I repeat TWICE a year. Therefore when the day of the sale arrives us ladies all over the county get a little crazy. We all set our alarms for 8 am anticipating amazing prices on our favorite Lilly items. 

For the past two sales in a row we have crashed the website within 10 minutes. The optimist in me thought there is no way this could happen a third time, but it did. Within 5 minutes of the sale beginning we all got the dreaded "Oh Shift" message on our screen. Immediately the Lilly Facebook page was flooded with nasty and incredibly rude comments. Yes I myself was not happy, but some of the things being said were ridiculous. Many people were saying things like the sale isn't even worth the hassle, why didn't they expect this when it happens every time, etc. I could go on and on. I was honestly appalled. Obviously the situation was not ideal but holy moly things happen. It's just clothing people! 

I was able to look at the sale long enough before it shut down to look at prices of most of the items I was looking for. While the official site was down I realized that several via shops were also having sales on all of their lovely Lilly items. My favorite via shop Splash of Pink (check it out) was having an amazing sale as well with prices just as great as the actual site! I ended up placing an order with them for both the Liza Short in Get Nauti and the Skipper Popover in Low Tide Blue Anchors Away. Clearly I'm loving the nautical look these days!

 After a few hours the official Lilly Pulitzer site was back up and running and I got a better look at the items and I just could not resist buying a new Lilly dress. I seriously have a problem. I ended up buying a dress I've loved since it came out, the Serena Dress in Resort White Spring Fling. Which turns out they had a matching bow tie on sale that I just had to buy for my boyfriend. Again I have a Lilly problem.

I am thrilled with my purchases and cannot wait for them to arrive. For me the benefits outweigh the hassle. I want to know what you think, is the Lilly sale worth the trouble? Or will you be staying away next time?
